[This isn't grade school.]
[Continuation log from a NSFW meme AU. Locked to

[He isn't sure what exactly happened between leaving the classroom that day and the next morning. Only that he had somehow ended up getting so horridly sick that even the front office lady sounded concerned when he called in about needing a substitute. He had barely called in for work, usually being extremely healthy and quite good at avoiding getting sick, so him being bedridden was a shock to himself.
Still, the nice sudden break from being at school and teaching was nice. That, and being able to sleep a good portion of the day was good.
And who was he kidding, he wasn't sure what to make of what was going on between him and Jason. He, of course, was happy to oblige to the partnership. But he still wondered just exactly how things would work. It wasn't like he couldn't deal with staying professional during school hours, but he couldn't see how this relationship would affect the teen. It wasn't exactly healthy. And he didn't want to subject the other to a relationship that had a high chance of caving in on itself.
Maybe the fact that he would't be in class for a few days were good. Jason would be able to think perhaps, and if it ended as a fluke, Dick wouldn't mind. At least he didn't mind if it meant Jason being happier with someone else. But he couldn't be selfish about it right?
God why is he thinking this, he needs more sleep. Hopefully the substitute got all his lesson plans.]

I don't care. You brought this on yourself. [He snorts...
But that's not true. He cares, and he's trying to fight a little smile at the thought that Dick might have missed him. Him, Jason Todd. It's a warm feeling, but he's not a chick that'd be impressed by Dick's lipservice, so he just grunts]
Can you at least stand up?
[He wraps an arm around Dick's waist. Because he wants to help him stand up if he can, and maybe because he just wants to touch Dick, somehow]
no subject
I guess I have. But it's too late now.
[He missed him a lot. Shut up.]
I think...
[And he might have clung to the other quite a bit as he got to his feet. He's still pressing his face against Jason's arm. Well he did try looking up, but the whole room immediately started spinning and hiding his face against his arm was apparently fixing that.]
Fuck... [Oh right. Supposed to be watching his language. Naw.] Not going to be able to drive home at this point...
no subject
The sex was definitely a plus though.]
I know how to drive. [He thinks he might be able to carry him to the car, but he's not going to carry him all the way] You'll just have to show me the way.
...Fuck Grayson, you're burning. What the hell- I can't even, I am supposed to be immature one here.
no subject
Hnn...my car has a GPS. [He steadies himself a little before he attempts to crouch down to pick up his duffel bag.] I'll show you.
I thought I wasn't that bad. I guess I was sicker then I thought. I usually don't get this sick. [He stumbles a little as he starts to try walking while also trying to find his keys from his bag. Man this was sad, he couldn't even do this.]
no subject
Wow, fancy. [He's stolen those before.] But how did you think you were able to do... this, when you can't even walk properly is beyond me.
[It doesn't take long for them to reach the car. Jason recognized it from the school, he's seen Dick come and leave the school in it.]
no subject
I was fine when I got here and even during stretches. I think going on the parallel bars was expecting too much of my body. [Oh hey he somehow found his keys and handed them to Jason.
The inside of Dick's car had a sweet smell to it, although from the looks of it he didn't have any of those car fresheners in it.]
no subject
But he also knows he shouldn't be feeling like this. Not for a teacher. It's like he's dirtying Dick with his... self.]
I shouldn't have to play nurse for you, jerkass.
[He manages to slide Dick inside of the car, and jumps to the driver's seat.]
Set the GPS. We'll talk when you're better.
no subject
[He immediately buckles his seat belt before setting the GPS. It takes him a little bit to do so, but he finally sets the coordinates to his place before curling up in the passenger seat.
Dick wasn't exactly a big man, but he looked tinier then usual doing that.] I don't mean to be so much trouble. [The way he said it made it sound kind of like he's said it before though.]
no subject
[...But he stops when he notices how little he looks. And how sad. Fuck, he didn't mean to make him look sad. He was just trying to... make a point, or something. He really need to control those anger issues he apparently has.]
...It's ok. [He half-mutters as he starts driving, letting the GPS tell him where to go] I was just... worried about you. I guess.
no subject
You're reacting similar to someone I know who didn't like seeing me get sick. I wasn't the healthiest little kid when it came to illnesses. [It was rare for Dick to bring up any part of his past. He always seemed to be thinking of the present and often skirted away from questions dealing with it.]
I know you're worried. I just didn't mean to make you worry.
no subject
... your... father? [He asks, rather hesitant. He thought of an ex at first but that wouldn't make sense with the little kid comment...]
It's ok if you don't...want to talk about it though.
no subject
Adopted. [He corrected.] My parents were used to it. There isn't really anything such as healthcare for a traveling circus. But it was different when I settled in.
[It wasn't like he didn't want to talk about it. But he was worried that if he ever told everyone who he was the son of, they'd treat him differently. Although it would be easy to look it up on the internet if anyone was really that curious and he was sure of the kids had already before.]
no subject
Jason adored him.]
...Oh. I didn't know you were born in one.
[He's slowly seeing where will the conversation go, interested but at the same time making it clear it can stop whenever Dick wants to, if he doesn't feel comfortable.
And Jason wouldn't look differently at him... but why would Dick like him would be even more of a mystery if he knew he was wealthy]
no subject
And even if he missed performing, he would never regret becoming a teacher because of it.]
Born and raised to leap hundreds of feet into the air without safety. [And yet he was so very calm about it.] But they couldn't keep me when I lost my parents. Of course, this place has a crappy social worker system. Brilliant idea to put a kid who watched his parents die in juvie. [He's rambling. And he knows he is, but he can't stop himself either.
It's probably because he's wealthy that he doesn't care for those things. He grew up in a humble lifestyle. no amount of money changed that.]
no subject
... I'm... sorry to hear that.
[He says, because he's not really sure what else is he supposed to say and because he does feel sorry to hear that.]
Who adopted you then? [He couldn't see who would adopt a kid raised in a circus...]
no subject
They moved me to an orphanage after I started getting beaten up by the other kids. Circus freak kid in their juvie. No one wants that.
And who would want a kid who's only talent is flips?
[Dick thinks the same thing sometimes. Who would want a kid who's only talent was on a trapeze?] Bruce Wayne apparently did. [Even in his sickened state he uttered that name with such respect and affection, it was obvious Dick really did love his adopted father.]
no subject
Wow... that sounds kind of-
[Wait]
...Wayne? Isn't that Gotham's golden prince? One of the freaking richest man alive? You're his son?
no subject
Fast? Things did move quite quickly around that time. I guess mostly since I got moved around a lot.
[Oh this.]
Recently his son. I think we did the papers only a few weeks ago. I was just his ward for awhile. I wish I could tell people about him more, but they treat me less as Dick Grayson and more as Bruce Wayne's adoptive son when I try.
no subject
Well, no shit. Wow. I banged a Wayne.
[...Yeah, sorry about that Dick. That's Jason for you. But at least that kinda shows he doesn't really mind what Dick's father (or adoptive father) is]
no subject
Still a Grayson if my last name doesn't indicate that. [It's muffled because he pressed his face closer against his legs.]
None of what I told you...changes how you feel about me right? [He turned his head lightly to look at you, although it's obvious his eyes are unfocused. But the expression on his face was completely unguarded.]
no subject
Of course not, you idiot.
[Because it's true. What is it supposed to change? It's just another thing to add to the list of things that makes them different. If Dick doesn't have a problem with it, Jason does't either.]
But I do wonder why are you working as a teacher... or working at all.
no subject
That makes me your idiot.
[He blinked blearily, slightly surprised with the question.]
Well like all other rich, arrogant brats, we get very bored of being rich, arrogant brats. We need to pick up hobbies or everything becomes dull. I just find working to be very fulfilling. I've never regretted becoming a teacher.
My only regrets is I let some people ruined the one thing I truly loved.
no subject
[But he does smile at that. He would usually laugh rather loudly at anybody who used cheesy pick up lines like that on him... but this is Dick, and like anything Dick does touches him one way or another. The jerk.]
There's a lot of ways to describe you [he says as he comes out of the car] and 'arrogant brat' is not one of them.
...What [or who, tsk] is that one thing you truly loved? And do you need help coming out the car?
no subject
[Dick was a cheesy, romantic type of guy. It's endearing to hear stupid lovesick puppy lines from Dick. Or maybe you just can't help but like them because Dick said them.]
How about childish brat. [He fumbles with the seat belt and moves to try and get out of the car.]
Oh...Gymnastics. The closest I'll ever get to a trapeze again. I...don't do so much of either of those anymore though.
no subject
You're a hopeless idiot and a sissy, if you must know, but you're not a brat. I wouldn't help a childish brat back home like this.
...Oh. [He blinks, unsure of what to say.] I'm...sorry?
