[This isn't grade school.]
[Continuation log from a NSFW meme AU. Locked to

[He isn't sure what exactly happened between leaving the classroom that day and the next morning. Only that he had somehow ended up getting so horridly sick that even the front office lady sounded concerned when he called in about needing a substitute. He had barely called in for work, usually being extremely healthy and quite good at avoiding getting sick, so him being bedridden was a shock to himself.
Still, the nice sudden break from being at school and teaching was nice. That, and being able to sleep a good portion of the day was good.
And who was he kidding, he wasn't sure what to make of what was going on between him and Jason. He, of course, was happy to oblige to the partnership. But he still wondered just exactly how things would work. It wasn't like he couldn't deal with staying professional during school hours, but he couldn't see how this relationship would affect the teen. It wasn't exactly healthy. And he didn't want to subject the other to a relationship that had a high chance of caving in on itself.
Maybe the fact that he would't be in class for a few days were good. Jason would be able to think perhaps, and if it ended as a fluke, Dick wouldn't mind. At least he didn't mind if it meant Jason being happier with someone else. But he couldn't be selfish about it right?
God why is he thinking this, he needs more sleep. Hopefully the substitute got all his lesson plans.]

Hmm. Yeah I could teach you some, but...
[He lazily ruffles your hair, smiling at him.] You need better grades you know. You're a brilliant kid. I don't want you to mess up your grades for something trivial when you can do so well you know.
I'll teach you if you keep up with your schoolwork.
no subject
Do not patronize me, Grayson. We aren't at school now.
[He does lean into his hand though]
I'm not brilliant either. I'm good with fights and skills that need my hands, but not with brain stuff. [He shifts slightly, because if he honestly doesn't give a damn about his grades it does... embarrass him slightly to talk about it in front of Dick] I'm not like you.
I just want get over school as soon as I can. Hate that place.
no subject
What if I'm doing it because I like touching your hair.
You're not stupid Jason. You have some skills that can't be learned. Being booksmart is something anyone can learn if given the time or chance. [He shakes his head a little.]
If you're stuck in school, you might as well learn while you're there. You're wasting your time otherwise.
I'd be willing to tutor you and teach you on my own free time if you want help.
no subject
Then you'd be even more of a weirdo.
[He sighs, too tired to argue or even try to pretend he's not enjoying the lip service. He knows he doesn't have any special skills, nor anything he learns at school will be of any use for the life that awaits him. But still...]
As long as it means spending more time with you.
no subject
[He laughs followed by a sneeze.]
You can spend as much time as you want with me, but you know.
Most things can be learned. You make your life how you want it to be Jason. But that means putting the effort to be what you want and giving it a chance to happen.
no subject
I will think about it, okay? I will... consider it, or whatever.
[He won't, at least not for now. Dick is nice, and he adores him in so many levels, but he's also stubborn.]
But right now you need to rest this away and get better, so I can kick your ass for being an idiot and risking your life.
no subject
[He's just scared Jason will grow up unhappy. It would break his heart.]
I didn't risk my life. There were plenty of people in the vicinity at the very least. [He smiled a little.]
Are you going to sta-I..it's kind of late. [Hey Jason, have you noticed that Dick has a lot of trouble with making any selfish requests like asking you to stay?]
no subject
...Yeah, it is? [He raises an eyebrow] Grayson, do you want me to stay?
no subject
[He's chewing the inside of his cheek lightly. And he looks slightly uncertain.] Yeah I'd like that.
I mean I don't want to hold you up or anything. I'd just. Yeah.
no subject
Uh. Don't take this the wrong way buddy, but you need to grow some balls.
[He stands up biting his lower lip, because he's resisting the urge to kiss him right now. He doesn't want to get sick though.]
I'll go call mother and ask her, okay?
no subject
Maybe. I guess I forget to ask for things. I'm easy to please so I don't really like being selfish. [Dick. Selfish. It's like an oxymoron.
He wouldn't want you to get sick either anyways. You can kiss him another time.]
I'd like that. [And even sick, he gives you a bright smile. The ones where he's just really happy for even the simplest things.]
no subject
I'll be right back, Mr selfish. Where can I find a telephone?
[He likes that smile. Even when he's sick, Dick can look gorgeous.]
no subject
There's one in the kitchen, which right through the open doorway to your left.
[And you're the one who got him to smile like that.]
no subject
Be right back.
[And he hops to where Dick indicated happily... maybe even too happy? He's just nervous. Talking with Mother never... ended well. And even when it did, it left him with an empty feeling inside of him.]
no subject
Alright.
[The kitchen was larger then an average household, which probably meant he had a professional stove installed into his house. But the kitchen was surprisingly modest and clean. There were a few dishes unwashed in the sink, but overall was well cared for. The phone was sitting on the counter. There was a cup full of pens, pencils and other objects along with a notebook and what looked like to be a small phonebook. There were also a sticky note pad and a couple of small, framed pictures.
There was one or two of him with what look like his ex gymnast team, one of a much younger him and Bruce, and the last frame had a picture of a couple and child dressed in bright leotards at a carnival. The three were matching and all had bright blue eyes just like Dick.]
no subject
It doesn't take long for him to talk to his mom, she was kind of busy. Jason won't bother trying to think what was she busy with, it'd only make him gloom. He didn't even have to think of an excuse... apparently her mother is perfectly ok with him sleeping at a teacher's house. So whatever.]
Are those on the pic your biological parents...?
no subject
Hmmm? Which one. I have a few pictures on the counter over there.
[He had propped himself up in a sitting position. Stupid guy, shouldn't you be lying down or something?]
no subject
There's one with a cute pairing, and they kinda look like you. [He pokes his forehead] Mom says no problem, and are you feeling good enough to wake up? Maybe I should have used a thermometer on you or something, I'm bad at this nurse thing.
no subject
Is it the ones in the matching leotards? Then, yes, those were my parents. The photo was taken the same day actually. Ironic. [He pouts and makes a small whining noise at the poke.] I want to say no and that I want sleep. But I also haven't eaten anything since I've gotten sick. I want to attempt to at least getting something in my stomach.
[High chance it won't stay though.]
no subject
Does it hurt? [He says, sitting by him and flopping his head on Dick's shoulder.
Personal space? Whateva whateva I do what I want.] To see them in that pic, to remember. They looked cool.
And you could try? I am not sure what are sick people supposed to eat though. But at least I can touch you now without feeling your skin burn.
no subject
Hmm? [That's okay. He might be cuddling u[ to you. Personal space? What's that. Dick doesn't believe in that.]
It was at first. When it just happened. I couldn't sleep very well. I still sometimes have nightmares about it so the trauma sticks to you even if you've gotten over it. There's just no way to get rid of watching loved ones die. They were amazing, at least to me.
Maybe some liquids. I think anything too solid will end up in the toilet bowl otherwise.
no subject
...I'm sorry. I can't imagine how much that must hurt. [He can't. He doesn't love his mother as much, and his father died when he was little... not that he was much more caring when he was there. He has no idea what to say, so he just cuddles up to him back.]
What about soup? Soup is good and liquid...
no subject
Things happen. I miss them but I also enjoy the life I have now. I have a wonderful job and life. [Hopefully he isn't being too forward now.] And I have you offer at my house.
Soup would be good. Maybe I have some canned ones in the cupboard I can heat up.
no subject
That didn't work out as he had imagined, but it ended quite nicely.]
Don't get sissy on me now. ...But I bet they'd be proud of you, or something. [Isn't that what people usually say in this kind of occasions?]
I'll heat them up then. You're letting me stay in here, the least I can do is being your mistress. [He smirks and pecks his cheek before standing up and walking to the kitchen] In more than one sense.
no subject
And well, things aren't so bad. They still need to figure out how they would do things so they aren't being too risky. But it doesn't seem too bad.]
I'm sure they are. I bet they'd like meeting you too. [He smiles warmly.]
I don't like that word. [He's pouting at you Jason.] It sounds too feminine for you and I like the term lover better anyways. [He would follow after you, but he doesn't trust himself walking quite yet.]
