[He isn't sure what exactly happened between leaving the classroom that day and the next morning. Only that he had somehow ended up getting so horridly sick that even the front office lady sounded concerned when he called in about needing a substitute. He had barely called in for work, usually being extremely healthy and quite good at avoiding getting sick, so him being bedridden was a shock to himself.

Still, the nice sudden break from being at school and teaching was nice. That, and being able to sleep a good portion of the day was good.

And who was he kidding, he wasn't sure what to make of what was going on between him and Jason. He, of course, was happy to oblige to the partnership. But he still wondered just exactly how things would work. It wasn't like he couldn't deal with staying professional during school hours, but he couldn't see how this relationship would affect the teen. It wasn't exactly healthy. And he didn't want to subject the other to a relationship that had a high chance of caving in on itself.

Maybe the fact that he would't be in class for a few days were good. Jason would be able to think perhaps, and if it ended as a fluke, Dick wouldn't mind. At least he didn't mind if it meant Jason being happier with someone else. But he couldn't be selfish about it right?

God why is he thinking this, he needs more sleep. Hopefully the substitute got all his lesson plans.]

I'm a bad student, but I'm not that stupid. [He actually smiles a bit at that] Awesome. And don't worry, you're not going back to the gym while you're sick if I can avoid it.

[Well then the both of them will get along well with all the touching. Although you'd probably ambush him against his desk even if he didn't touch you. Teenager.]

I didn't say you were stupid. [He pokes your cheek, grinning a bit.] I won't. I promise Nurse Todd, that Patient Grayson will be a good boy and listen to you.

[They're going to be whatever the hell a couple is. Just with a lot of sneaky touches because they're like that. And Dick doesn't mind. Although he hopes you have enough of a mind to close the door before you decide to do anything.]

Oh, mister manly Todd nurse, oh. I'm done, thank you. [He's giggling a little, and gives you a charming smile.] I don't know if I can take anything seriously when you say something like that.

Okay he does, he's not stupid and wouldn't risk this like that, but it's going to be hard keeping his hands to himself. Specially if Dick goes touching other people and you know he will because that's just Dick for you...]

Well you called ma Nurse [he huffs, taking Dick's dishes but grinning widely at the same time] I was just protecting my manliness.

And you should know that Dick is just super friendly. How he touches other people doesn't have the same love and affection then he touches Jason. But Jason can just be his possessive and easily jealous self if he wants.]

[Jay knows, he spend a lot of time forcing himself to look at Dick touch and be friendly to everybody to forget. He thought it'd be easier to let go of this idiotic crush if he convinced himself there was nothing special in the way he treated him.

Ya better. I gotta wash all this [he struts to the kitchen] maybe ya should try to sleep a lil now.

[It's funny that Dick probably wasn't even conscious about how he acted around Jason. How he was just a little perkier then he usually is, or that he seemed to show just a little more affection then to anyone else. And that each time he they made any physical contact, he would linger a second or two more then he should.

Dick was very oblivious to how much he had fallen for the teenager.]

I'll make it up to you somehow. [He laughed a little.] I guess so.

[Jay didn't exactly act different around Dick... at least he hoped so. He just tended to feel more... guilty because of the things he did wrong, and happier when Dick congratulated him for doing something right. He'd spend many nights wondering if what he felt wasn't just the lack of paternal love, but then again one doesn't wank himself yo oblivion thinking about somebody if you just want a paternal figure, right?]

You're letting me stay here, that's enough. [he assures him as he rinses the bowls]

[Dick was subtle about his differences. Only if you paid attention, you could see those subtle differences. And, well, we already guessed how much you got under Dick's skin if he can accidentally say the wrong name in the heat of the moment. By the way, if you wondered why Dick had a bruised cheek those few days whenever if had happened, that's why.]

I would invite you over all the time if I could you know.

[It's not that Jason doesn't pay attention, Dick was just way more subtle than what he had anticipated about his feelings. He always thought he was like an open book.

And shouting the wrong name during sex is just another proof of how Dick is practically unable to hide anything...]

Now that would raise suspicions. If I was a good boy, a good student, I would leave right now so you wouldn't have to explain why did a teen bring you home and didn't leave until next morning.

[He comes back, flashing his best grin] Sadly, I am not a good boy.

[Well, Dick is a master at body language. He knows what and how to use his body. He was an acrobat. But it only really took one good luck in Dick's eyes to see what he really feels.

I can easily say that I wouldn't trust a teenager going home by himself or herself at this time of night. [It's half true. Dick was very protective of kids. Even if he didn't know them.]

I thought you were going to sleep. [He scolds, but he's half-smirking and totally leaning into the nuzzles. He won't be the most touchy-feely person, but he can tell how much Dick likes it.] This doesn't look like sleeping to me.

Well [He snorts, actively trying to gently push Dick away now] I'm glad to know I'd make a living as a sofa, but you're going to the bed. What the hell, I shouldn't be acting like the responsible adult here you idiot.

[Seriously. Toothpaste?]

[He just makes a whining noise, before making an attempt to actually get up. Only to fall back onto the couch. Got up too fast.] I'm actually just a five year old.
